The So Wai Support Group was established in 2008 by a group of participants of the ‘Living with Memory Loss Program’ jointly organized by Alzheimer’s Australia NSW and ANHF. The guiding principle of the support group is “self help and support”.
The group meets once a month at the Lucy Chieng Garden in Campsie. The group aims to provide support services to carers of people living with dementia. It also provides an excellent opportunity for carers to share and receive information as well as to obtain practical skills to assist those living with dementia. Activities include outings, education and training, visits to service organizations, stress management and relaxation, aromatherapy, gentle exercise and cooking demonstrations.
